Hi Guys,
The Dogmobile has started to misbehave when using anything more than a modest amount of throttle.
On anything over around 30% there is a sound like rushing air from what sounds like the front right of the car, followed by ABS/ESP warning, tyre pressure warning and MAF fault.
On light throttle, car runs fine, but suffers hesitancy on heavier throttle positions, so I’m thinking vacuum leak is a possible culprit that may affect the vacuum on brake servo which may trigger the ABS/ESP fault.
I’m going to try spraying brake cleaner around the hoses and see if I can hear a change in engine note, but is anyone has seen this issue before, please chip in!
Cheers,
Pete

Occasionally, I actually understand what I’m doing, however, now is not one of those times!

That does sound like a possible cause. Please post up the results of your spray tests even if just for others information.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Have a close look at all the boost hoses, description sounds more like a pressure leak rather than vacuum.

Sounds like a boost leak to me - easiest to find with a smoke machine, but have a good look around and see if you can find any where that looks oily which is the usual give away.

Thanks guys, I’ll check things out and let you know what I find. I don’t have a smoke machine but if there is nothing obvious I may have to buy one unless someone in the Northumberland area can loan one to me.

Re: P0100 & C1391 - SOLVED
Okay guys,
Turned out to be one of the clips holding one of the hoses to the intercooler had partially slipped off the end of the hose, allowing it to break the seal under pressure.
Easy fix in 5 minutes, so thanks for the suggestions guys, much appreciated.
Still not sure why this caused the C1391 DTC, but seems to have cleared along with the P0100.

Nice find!
When it trips the fault in the engine ECU it interrupts the data flow to the ABS ECU, causing all sorts of mayhem and lights to come on. Many people have been misled and chased random ABS/brake faults when in fact the fault lies with the engine. Including me before I knew better!!!

Cheers Richard,
Yes, I guess that makes sense!
Certainly had me wondering whether I had multiple faults at the outset, but logic suggested it was likely a single cause when all faults occurred and reoccurred at the same time each time.
Still, good to get it sorted and have the Dogmobile running sweet again!
