Need help with persistent P0101 on Boxer 2.2 HDi

Unread post by dfidalgo »

Hi everyone,

I’m struggling with a persistent P0101 (MAF/air flow issue) on my 2.2 HDi Boxer (120 hp, 2008).

I’ve already replaced the MAF sensor (no change).

I dismantled and checked the entire intake system, but found no obvious leaks.

MAP sensor was also cleaned and later replaced.

Despite this, the error keeps coming back.

Live data shows that the ECU is requesting more airflow than the MAF measures, so I still suspect there’s a hidden leak somewhere between the intake and the turbo.

👉 My question: does anyone know if this is a common issue on the Boxer 2.2 HDi? Are there specific spots in the intake system that are known to cause this kind of problem (cracked hoses, intercooler leaks, etc.)?

Any advice or shared experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not saying this is the cure but a read through this thread may give you something else to check.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Thanks for your reply.
The problem was solved. I just found a cracked tube from intercooler.
Best regards!
