Peugeot 307 1.6 hdi 2006

Unread post by Pepe autotechnics »

Hi again I have a Peugeot 307 1.6 hdi 2006 and the car starts fine from cold and runs ok but when the engine warms up to 70-80 degrees then you switch off and leave for a few mins 5-10 mins engine doesn’t want to start again the fuel pressure in parameters on diagbox shows 125 bar and the ref pressure is at 286 bar and obviously engine will not start because the pressure is too low but when the engine cools down a bit the engine starts, I have replaced the high pressure fuel sensor and there is no leaks and the engine still does the same when it warms up it doesn’t want to start it tries then if you keep cranking the pressure drops more and no start but when it cools down it starts ok, I have done a leak off test on the injectors and injector no2 has exssesive leak off after just a few seconds of cranking!! But also I noticed in the Bsi faults log it has P0093 stored fuel pressure anomaly but only 3 times!! Could 1 injector stop it from warm or am I looking at a high pressure pump fault!! I have also drained and cleaned the fuel tank as it had traces of water and also replaced the fuel filter and blew out all the fuel lines!!
Any help would be appreciated!!

If one injector has excessive leakoff when warm it suggests that the injector itself or its seal is leaking once warmed up. If that is the case then you will get a resultant drop in rail pressure as the fuel leaks through that seal. I'd check the injector is correctly tightened down and if so then I'd replace the seal and run another leakoff test. Then go from there if it still causes problems!! :)

Hi thanks for your input, but the injector leak off test is done through the injector internally, not externally surely if it was the seal it would be an external leak!!

Well done, nothing like a positive cure as a result of a test!! :)
