I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of my alarm on my 2018 DS7.... I quickly went to check on the vehicle and found the rear passenger window wide open but all doors closed. I have young kids and possibly it was left open but we are pretty certain that is was closed when the car was locked. I also discovered that when the car locks the same door isn't locking - the door can be opened and the alarm sounds.
Trying to figure if the events are linked.... I've checked again this morning and when I lock the car is sounds if the lock is not moving or engaging correctly, noticeably different to the door which is locking on the other side.
A few weeks ago a driver did scratch the rear quarter with their wing mirror (same side) so I'm wondering if the issue is related to that - otherwise I am completely baffled.
I know previously when I have left a window open a little and locked the car the alarm has gone off quite soon after - this incident was several hours later so part of me is wondering if someone has tampered. I use a Faraday pouch and mechanical steering lock.
Confused!

Re: Window and Door Lock Mystery
Logically if the window has opened then the motor must have run which suggests a possible fault in the wiring loom. Check the loom into the door carefully for signs of damage. Run a diagbox scan and test the operations of the BSI. Maybe restting the BSI is an idea but probably better to ensure no physical damage first.

Thanks - do I need to remove the coregated tubing to expose the cables? The tubing itself appears to be fine.
When the doors are open and I try to lock the car the door which won't lock has a lot less going on inside judging by the sound compared to the other door.

I would suggest removing the door card first and seeing if you can check all the wiring from there, you may even find a loose plug as a result of the wing mirror incident. Then you will have access to the window motor and you should be able to test its operation with a couple of fly leads.

The car is going in for repair for the damage caused by the 3rd party next week - I guess I should mention to it them as part of the damage...

Good idea, then hopefully you'll get it done under the insurance claim!
