Unread post by superloopy »

Guys, my only runner, 66 reg 2008 gt-line has thrown up a 'P2049 reductant injector valve high bank1' error. First time error. Any idea what this could be, sensor?? Somebody out there with the knowledge and its not me! Not yet anyways .... :-D

Mike, my limited searches on the 'web does point to this potentially being the urea injector...

How did you determine the P2049 code? Wasit with a standard OBD2 Dongle or Diagbox?

If not the latter then I strongly recommend a Diagbox session and that will determine the exact'sh source of the error. In any case it's likely you'll need Diagbox to fix it and put the light out.

Replacement urea injectors are cheap and readily available from Amazon and the like and are easy to replace but I'd not take the gamble without proper Diagbox diagnostics. Otherwise you're into a guessing game and in any case, as stated, Diagbox will be needed to reset things...

Hey, I’ve come across the P2049 code a few times on similar diesel models. This code usually points to a problem with the AdBlue/reductant injector valve on Bank 1, either it’s stuck, clogged, or not operating correctly. Sometimes the issue can also be the sensor that monitors the injector, or even the wiring and connectors. Before replacing anything, I’d recommend checking the part compatibility with your exact 2008 GT-Line. Injector nozzles can differ slightly depending on the model year and trim, so it’s important to make sure it fits your car. Here’s a reliable replacement I’ve seen used: https://xenons4u.co.uk/3c0131113c-adblu ... ozzle.html A good approach is to first inspect the connectors and wiring for any corrosion or damage. If they’re fine, replacing the injector valve usually resolves the P2049 error. Also, after replacing, it might require a reset or adaptation using a diagnostic tool.
