Rt6 radio firmware

Unread post by Boolalor »

Hi all. Ive seen the post on here how to fix the black screen and intermittent rt6 radio and I plan to follow them instructions to fix my radio. Only I cant find the firmware that I need to download. Can anyone here point my in the right direction? Where do I get this update from. Don't think my radio was ever updated. 2013 citroen ds5
Thanks

I believe there are members who can advise you, or maybe even send you the links you need but I'm afraid I'm not one of them. Hopefully someone will see your query soon. :)

What version are you looking for?

I don't think the radio was ever updated. It hasn't been in the last 6 years anyway

Are you hoping that updating the firmware will cure your problem?
What version is currently fitted?

I've read on here that I need to change the sd card inside the radio with a new one then update. Im hoping if I do all that it'll cure the problems

If you have a blank screen then that's difficult, I was hoping that you might have checked on this out of curiosity when it was working.

If the screen sometimes works then a long press on the Setup button brings up this information.

That's not a blank screen! Try pressing the setup but.

You might need to replace the radio. Our 308 touch screen stopped working just showing the Peugeot logo. I tried pulling fuses so it could reboot but it still did not work. The dealer tried to install new software but it did not help and it needed a new radio, cost at the dealer with installation and programming was £1500 so if you need to replace yours I would try to get a used one.

I'll send you a link to download a copy of RT6 2.86. This should be copied onto a FAT32 formatted pen drive. The file is just under 80MB so don't go daft with a large capacity drive. 8GB is fine. And not USB3, there can be problems according to some reports I've read
