2015 C1 reverse lamp issues

Unread post by thezet »

Hi,

I need help with my 2015 C1 Gen2

I made a mistake and am trying to track down the root cause. When replacing the stock radio with an aftermarket unit, I was trying to connect the OEM reverse camera to the Blaupunkt Oslo 600; I might have used the wrong adapter, and after some research, it turned out that pin 2 (CDET) of the camera connector was shortly connected to a 12V cable. Since the line is 0-5V, it did not like it. Now, my reverse lamp is not working... here are the symptoms and steps taken so far

Reverse detect line has no voltage, and reverse lamp is not working

*Fuse 1 was blown and replaced

*Lightbulb was tested and is good

*Stuff in the back seems to be working, as swapping reverse 12V with park 12V triggers the reverse sound and light

*All fuses were tested in both boxes and are good (except the now replaced fuse 1)

2. No other faults, issues, or electronics are "not working"

3. I have disconnected the battery for a couple minutes to reset any control modules if needed with no effect.

4. I have tested that the reverse switch is working (continuity when in reverse, none when not)

What can be the issue? I get straight no voltage on the Reverse cable (white/purple) when in reverse. Is there an in-line fuse or separate control module I can check?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Have you tried putting the old radio back to see if the light works, if so this eliminates problems with the car and just then the new radio/connector.

I tried that, there is no voltage coming on the reverse switch wire or the reverse lamp wire. I will try the BSI reset and check the reverse switch once more to be sure.

I was trying to see if the reverse detect wire is connected to anything else,
