Anyone help in finding out my original engine number

Engine number required if anyone could help as need to re register vehicle with dvla have vin but unable to read engine number due to corrosion where they are stamped /etched

We have lost our access to the Stellantis database at the moment, hopefully to be resurrected but no use at the moment. Hopefully someone with access will reply but they will need the VIN to locate your engine number.

By engine number do you just mean the 3 letter engine code? In which case that's contained within the VIN. It should be the 6th-8th characters.

If still the original engine then your Citroen dealer might help if you provide the vin and they should be able to provide the original engine serial number. If you have a previous V5C document that also includes the engine serial number.

No v5 with been ex mod so need to re register with dvla contacted dvla and citroen but no joy

If Gibbo's link doesn't help and hence things are getting desperate then if you post up the VIN it will be masked from public view and able to be read by forum staff. Depending on the year it may be possible to get the engine number via a member who has access to some of the historic Stellantis database.

Out of curiosity, how come we can't get into the system? Have we been banned or is it just broken?

I don't know the details but basically politics with the Stellantis take over of PSA. We are hoping to sort out the issues which as far as I know means we have to get round or exempt from their 'Only VAT registered businesses in the trade' are permitted access. I believe the motivation is in trying to minimise the capabilities of DIYers to work on their cars thereby hoping to increase business for their dealer network but no doubt they will claim it is to guarantee the safety and security of their vehicles !!

I have access to a backup version of some sort of the system, but it's fairly useless for build info. Tried to get the info for my X7s and it'll only give me the generic details on the engine and gearbox. All the other dropdowns are blank, annoyingly.

What year is the vehicle, presuming it is a Relay from your id but this is not stated in any posts ?
When you say you have contacted Citroen, was this in person at a dealer or just by email/other means ?

17 plate they remove the registration when there de commission them so need to re reg they supply vin and registration it was on but they are not much use tryed various ways via online hpi reports to see if if would bring it up but it's rubbish with original build details which there not willing to supply

Checked the link but it was a lease vehicle to them via lex which have no record of the engine number apparently due to type of lease to mod as the form was the second type in link
