I'm going to go through everything again tomorrow when I get time! I think maybe replacing all the old fuses for new ones, I've checked them all already but won't hurt to replacing them . I thank you all for your invaluable help in advance

Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 HDi diesel manual no power to starter switch
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 HDi diesel 2009.The starter motor broke i replaced it put it on wouldn't start. And it was Christmas on the dash, I cleaned up all the starter wires and earth's to gearbox cleaned the gear box face that mates with starter it was a bit dirty. Put it back in Tested with multimeter no 12v when you turn key to start. bench tested it worked fine, put it back on I have no warning lights on dash when i turn the key the starter dosnt crank, if i bump the car it starts and drives great. I tested all fuses and they were fine a friend suggested it could be ignition barrel or immobiliserbut it drives with a bump so sort of ruled it out. Can't reset BSI as it won't start! Any suggestions before I start replacing BPGA money is tight plus I'm want to know what is causing it I've had the starter in and out 4 times crawling around on my back at 62yrs not easy

You do not need to start the engine to do a BSI reset, it is merely the final check that you have no faults. So I'd go through the BSI reset procedure as in the link below and then see if the starter motor still doesn't operate.:

When you say that you have no warning lights, do you mean that the dashboard is completely dark? That would indicate a fuse or power relay issue.
Either way, you probably need to read the fault codes and look at the live data with a diagnostic tool.

mickthemaverck, yes I've done that it's still not cranking the starter. I will try it again tomorrow no harm in that.

If you have jump leads can you connect the battery positive straight to the starter motor terminal when in situ with the ignition off and just see if it turns which will prove the earth side is ok. I'd clip the lead on the starter motor first and thus have your hand right away from the moving parts when you connect the battery end. It is likely to spark as you make the connection due to the high current that the motor will draw if it is ok.

It is likely that the problem is in the engine bay fuse box, if you are lucky, just a fuse.

Re: Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 HDi diesel manual no power to starter switch
Xantia_v6 I read you last post an thought yes I have to start rechecking everything starting with the basics, I checked fuse F8 starter fuse 25 amp and it was fine tested continuity it was fine. So got new fuse tried that it was the same when tested in situ cleaned up fuse box contacts with electrical spray eureka it was the fuse problem solved
so dirty contacts on the fuse box side! My minds eye kept saying its something simple got to be as everything was working as it should no lights on dash, no codes on obd test, and drives great with bump and it was right. I want to thank everyone that has contributed thank you all your input was invaluable
