height corrector spindle

Hello all, advice needed.
How do i get the tail off without damaging the spindle.
Ive got a repair kit coming as it's still leaking.

Hello, yes it's the Xantia, now on 188,000 miles.
Got it done, padding, vice, a bit of heat.
Followed Jims guide when i cleaned the valve, he doesn't take that bit off.
