How do I check if the trottle butterfly is moving 1.6 HDI 2008 90HP?

I unbolted it from the inlet so that I could see the butterfly.

On the obd2 it shows the pedal moving in percentage but I cannot see the butterfly moving; it's 1/4 open, the ignition is on but obviously the engine is not running.

I would have tought the default would be nearly closed and that it would move to facilitate visual testing.

Any idea how to test ?

There's no throttle butterfly on a diesel as such - they run effectively at WOT all the time. There might be an intake butterfly / doseur valve used for EGR control / DPF. What are you troubleshooting?

It's to late to take a photo but there is something like a butterfly
I have attached something off the web that's from a 1.6HDI

EGR been blanked, MAF new and MAP working compression good, turbo boost correct but white smoke and revs responding slowly.
