multiple errors while driving

Unread post by dman1234 »

when driving on motorway i occasionally get error warning 5 to be in fact.
1. gearbox fault, repair needed
2. parking break fault, have the vehicle repaired
3. anti roll back system fault
4. ESP/ASR system fault, have the vehicle repaired
5. ABS fault, have the vehicle repaired

these faults remain for about 10-15 minutes then go off and everything returns to normal, during this time the automatic gearbox doesn't work (the manual shifters work) but returns to normal once lights go off.
any help will be great

What year is the car? It can't be 1993 as per your "My Cars" on the left.

How old is the battery? Has it been replaced?

If it's a 12 year old battery then it really is living on borrowed. Even assuming it was replaced 6 years ago it could easily be in need of replacement again. How long have you had the vehicle?

You need to get the battery tested by a place that has a proper battery testing device. Simply measuring a no-load voltage doesn't really work any more. I believe that Halfords offer a no-obligation battery test service.

Need to scan it with a decent diag tool - there will be a fault somewhere, not necessarily in the gearbox or ABS ECU!

It's probably the usual Citroen electric gremlins. I've had ABS warning, cruise control etc, even alarm indicators going off and not stopping. Best to do a battery reset first and go from there.

I bet ABS sensors is playing up, probably rear O/S one. Might be N/S as well. Had a similar situation with my godmother ds. At the beginning only O/S rear been replaced, after 2 days N/S gone as well. At my c4 b78 had a problem with the loom near Abs connector, and get all those fault apart gearbox - have manual)) aa not to mention that Navi showed that I am outside of UK))) But yes, good to check live data from ABS sensors
