Hi Mick no its yours. I have just tried it on the other car and its doing the same thing, loads up OK then eventually when you try to find a section to analyse
it comes up with a lot of random numbers ending up with 'ID 2072 not found' or '205m not found. I am completely out of my depth here. I need an analogue one with valves.

I can have a run down to you next week if I can get hold of a reliable diagbox and maybe its operator in the interim. No point in just coming with the kit as it is so lets see if any assistance materialises :-D

Thanks Mick. I am thinking of taking the sensor off the scrap one in the field in case I have two new duff ones. I am also thinking of getting a different car, a Mondeo estate for instance which will work from a much simpler set up. We will see what happens.

A few new developments: The battery was low so I couldn't shut the windows, I charged it for two days on a trickle charger and it appears to be fully charged now. I still couldn't close the windows but a BSI reset fixed that. I have now refitted the original crank sensor which got us to Scotland and back and it wont start with that either, in fact when you try to start it after about 15 seconds the instrument lights go out and the fuel gauge goes to zero and it still doesn't start.

I have asked my son to bring his car over this evening so I can try the Lexia on it. Will let you know what happens. Does anyone want a cheap non running C5?

Have you checked the battery voltage while cranking Peter? :)

No I haven't Mick but it is fully charged now and I connected the computer up directly after it came off charge and its whopping the motor round at a rate of Notts.

Result still the same on Martins car. He has taken some pictures which I will send you if I can find them. Its the same on all three cars and mine has a new battery.

That certainly looks like a problem with the interface hardware as it happens across 3 cars. An outside chance that it is a plug problem in the line but I fear it will be a software issue. It might be worth sending those pictures to Jim at Easydiagnostics and ask if he has any idea what might be wrong. The kit was bought from him originally. :)

No help so far, only silly questions because they haven't read the description properly. There is a chap in Poole that has reset the dpf light for me twice - but its a long way to push the car! The electrics have gone haywire, can't even shut the windows. I will have another play and see if I can prompt any response. I have only recently taxed the car for a year, I would rather not write it off but if I do I shan't be getting any more Citroens after about 40 years of running them.

If the windows are misbehaving, you should try a BSI reset. I am somewhat suspicious that you have a bad battery.

I did this afternoon and they close now, I still can't start it though, the battery has been on continuous trickle charge since I started messing about with it it's also a fairly new battery. Engine turns over but won't start, runs on easy start though.

Hi Mick

Still a work in progress. Many thanks to you and Jim for all your help.

I tried to get a new plug but there don't seem to be any available, there a few second hand ones with a length of wire attached but none listed for the 2.0. all 1.6's. I have now removed the one from the scrap car (that won't run again) and before fitting it I am going to run a few resistance checks with the old plug, the with the new one to check that its OK, may do this today depends how things go. I will keep you updated.

Thanks again

Peter
