Definitely a good candidate for a "Please drive carefully through our village" sign

On Facebook I follow a group dedicated to Vanguards die-cast models. I follow it mainly for this contributor who posts up an almost daily diorama featuring British cars of the 60s and 70s in period settings along with a little story to accompany each. They invariably provoke a big smile...

This one really amused me :D

It's worth being on Facebook simply for this group and Paul 'Potsie' McAlpine :D

I absolutely love dioramas of all kinds. I like models too but they are an order of magnitude better when part of a diorama. I only wish I had the talent to create dioramas for my collection but alas...

I do love a diorama, it taps into your childhood when pushing a toy car along and imagining the world in miniature. Perhaps that why some people have big train sets (which don't interest me).

I think you're right Ryan :) I'd love a big train set but neither have the space, time, skills to do the modelling and my pockets are nowhere deep enough...

I follow a few railway modelling Facebook groups and through those I see just how much the rolling stock can cost. It's eyewatering. I do admire some of the modelling and diorama building skills I see.

One aspect I really admire is the skill of 'weathering' rolling stock to make it look realistically well-used, dirty and scruffy - as much actually looks in real life. The railway modelling equivalent of the automotive 'rat-look'. I love that too...

"You're useless plasterboard, you're weak. I should never have bought you in the first place" Will that do, or is that just a mild rebuke ?

Sometimes I feel like my job description should be "checking engineer"
Spoiler: show
sadly though, it more accurately would be "Meeting Engineer"
Sometimes it's hard to "take the checking hat off" even when you are just, reading the news, or in this case the instructions!

You wouldn't think I'd any eye for detail given the mistakes that I drop regularly, but I blame tap-tap- tapping my phone screen for all I post on here and auto correct for those! :)
