Some interesting ideas explored there Vic but I can't see it catching on for the simple problem of how to get the beads in the tyre in the first place. The only time my beads get cracked are when the wheels are down at my tyre man's place and he has the full laser balancing kit so nothing to gain for me!! 
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Off Road and Truckers have used them for some time....the off road use I have seen )in a old tyre) used some form of "goop" that set them in place.
