Recently had an emissions warning come up on 2018 DS7. It said engine fault requires repair, the yellow engine fault light, ad blue warning and red spanner lights..
I drove approx 25 mils then filled up my ad blue with 10l from a container. Shortly after I got the count down message warning that in 700 miles engine won't start. I've done approx 50 miles since the top up and warnings remain on.
Not sure if I'm imagining it or not but recently I thought at times the rear of the car smelled dirty... Like my old Citroën that didn't have asblue. Since adding the ad blue I haven't smelled that smell and the car drives absolutely fine.
Any ideas? Would an ODB2 reader help me? Obviously hoping it might be a sensor rather than tank replacement..
Ive owned the car since beginning of year, done probably 1200ish miles and hadn't before today added any Adblue as haven't seen any warnings....

Re: Adblue Warning
There is a fault somewhere, will need a scan to see what it is. A cheap OBD won't cut it though, the DeNox system often hides behind a generic 'low efficiency' code - it needs to be re-set, then the live data studied to see which bit is not working.

Re: Adblue Warning
Thanks makes sense, is the reset something I can do myself?

Re: Adblue Warning
If your reader can delete the code just do it.
It might be linked with your injector being clogged due to crystallization. It's happening when is really warm outside Just add a proper adblue anti crystallization additive and you shouldn't have a problem anymore. I did add a concentrated one last time and problem disappeared.

Re: Adblue Warning
Is there a type of reader I need to look for to clear the code, is the ODB2 sufficcient?
Would the anti crystallization additive help clear my issue or is this something to consider for the future?
Thanks!

Re: Adblue Warning
Adblue is a mix of urea and deionized water. Water evaporates and urea getting crystalize. You can see it sometimes white coating on the HGV adblue tanks. This additive makes that this not happening. There is an app on android fap lite which help you to see a state of dpf system but the best is Diagbox. Now I am using Liqui Moly Def Anti Crystal Additive Concentrate. Since I did start using it no problem whatsoever. Been using Wynns and others but in my opinion Liqui is the best.
