C4 Grand Picasso 2016 Drivers Window fault

Just bought a 2016 C4 grand Picasso with some faults. The drivers window was not operating but the seller supplied a second hand regulator with motor. I removed the old one and partially installed the second-hand one. No luck. I stripped the old motor off and it was shot. I stripped the replacement off the regulator and it tested ok but when refitted to the regulator I cannot verify operation. DCT faults checked : U1F32 Fault: absence of communication with the driver's door control pad . BIS reset completed no result. Switch module stripped and cleaned no result. Apologies if this has been previously covered. Any help appreciated.

Possibly there is a broken wire between the door and pillar.

Yes, very likely to be a broken wire inside the flexible connection. The driver's door gets opened much more often than the passenger one.
