That does appeal :-D
......but it's a little out of my price range :(
And it really ought to be painted either black or cream in my view.

Definitely that and far more £££ than I am looking to spend - even though my birthday - a special one - looms ;)

It does have one thing going for it though, it's in the best colour :)

Surprisingly it states "Winning bid: £8200" so just scraped under the thread's entry conditions.

The proper roof has a big square hole in it Jim :)

I'm intrigued by the funny rectangular thing next to gearstick???

Err, one wheel has a locking wheel bolt, the other three each have one bolt just missing!

That box is a new one on me...

As for the big square hole in the roof Matt, that's covered by the best sunroof in the business - a vacuum one. Essentially the rubber seal around it is made to be a very snug fit when the roof is closed to keep out noise and wet. To allow the roof to slide open easily, manifold vacuum is admitted to the seal to collapse it.

Thanks for the enlarged pictures Mick, still has me confused though!

Ah interesting, clever but a strange idea! Interesting potential fault scenarios!
Ah, I thought it was:
"Every time I put my foot down, I get wet"

But realised when I reread your good description it more likely to give:
"Sunroof hard to open"
"Have you started the engine?"
Or
"I thought I needed a new brake servo but turned out to be the sunroof!"
:rofl2:

Wonder if the STDT would achieve the same with a connection to it's vacuum pump, guessing so :)

Should do Matt... The servo acts as a vacuum reservoir for the sunroof so it can be opened with the engine not running. If the system is in good nick, the servo will hold enough vacuum for a good while.

A leak in the sunroof surround can upset engine running in extreme cases...

I wonder if the 'gadget' is some sort of gear lever lock.

Good thinking Gibbo, it could well have a U bolt which goes round the gearstick and plugs into the two large holes, released by a key pressed into the small hole on the other side. It would presumably lock the lever in 2nd? :)
The keyhole maybe?
