Service to get original part number with VIN?

Unread post by Snaileater »

Is there a service to get the original part number with VIN?

Have ordered a clutch kit, the company says it should work with my car but want to be sure before leving it to the repair shop.

Due to changes in the Stellantis technical documentation system, only dealers and approved repairers now have access to parts lookup by VIN.

You could try getting the part number from your dealer. For cars up to 2013, the old off-line database is still available, but doesn't have lookup by VIN.

If you are providing the parts for a garage to install then beware the garage will not provide a warranty on the parts, just the labour so if there is a problem with the clutch you will need to sort it and pay for labour again.

If you send me the VIN of your car via PN, I can find the spare part number for you from the service hotline, which is subject to a charge.
Sometimes this also works via the hotline

but the portal is outdated, so it can be faulty.

I think that even in a PM that the forum software masks a VIN. You can defeat this by putting spaces in the start of the VIN.
