Car all back together and started fine. Battery not charged until my charger decided it's full but keen to get it back and confirm running, ahead of tomorrow's long trip.
No warning messages on start (but that was not happening EVERY time)
As per screenshots above, my testing this morning one Diagbox, one menu (bsi standard parameters I think) triggered:
Electrical system fault have vehicle repaired
Engine fault have vehicle repaired
And illumination of the SERVICE light.
I'll come back to that screen and see if it returns. Car in the full sun so sitting in that black interior can wait till later!
A few differences between the BPGA units as pictured above.
Terminals can be unclipped fairly easily: So all made to match the old one fairly easily.
The extra high current connection I'm surprised I'd not spotted until now!
Also nearly missed this fairly hidden 5 amp micro fuse:

Car started multiple times (home - tip - Morrisons shop - Morrisons fuel station** all fine) no return of any warning messages.
** Yes, I've been back there again, despite being where it konked out last time!

So is that high voltage connection entirely missing from the old one Matt, or had it got wrecked etc?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Nope, missing and looking very much like it's never been present - though plastic moulding suits provision of it. I guess between the different part numbers there's changes like that over the basic design.mickthemaverick wrote: 15 Jun 2025, 15:04 So is that high voltage connection entirely missing from the old one Matt, or had it got wrecked etc?

Same here!
Tomorrow's 183 mile drive should top up the battery. I'm just hoping (as I can walk between hotel and office Tuesday - Thursday) that when I jump in it again to come home again early Friday morning, that it starts and hasn't flattened the battery! (I've read of some BPGA failures giving some circuits "always on" and flat batteries as a result. Obviously the new BPGA should hopefully eliminate that possibility)

Short version, 370 miles covered, 62.7 mpg indicated, car seems fine

Via jump leads and a short piece of mains cable, "new" motor tested: all fine.
So given a scrub with an old toothbrush and some diesel. Said diesel from a jam jar - drained from fuel filter housing (and buried the junk in the garage) so long ago I can't recall which car it was from!
Looking better:

Oh no, my boys need much encouragement for teeth brushing as it is, strong overtones of grime and diesel definitely wouldn't help there
