Back in the day when I had my own flat I had a three screen setup for watching F1 among other things: Screen 1 Live coverage, Screen 2 Lapchart, Screen 3 In car with Lewis . It was brilliant but SWMBO has her own laptop in the study so no room for my setup anymore. In fact I abandoned my 3 monitors when I moved in here in 2006 so it has been a while!!

That arrangement of screens was almost as good as I've seen they have in F1 pits these days Mick... You could almost say your setup was the pits!

Monitor space usage I have found behaves like a gas. It expands to fill the available space in the container.

Have four on my main workstation and still find myself occasionally running into situations where things get buried sometimes. I can potentially see a major upgrade happening in the not too distant future given that I've now discovered that 30-40" 4K displays which must have cost a small fortune when new are pretty readily available on the secondhand market for <£100. Could probably comfortably condense the current three monitors into two - the upper one I'm less bothered about as that pretty much exclusively has Spotify or the system monitor on it so the ancient 14" XGA resolution one is just fine. It's also screwed directly to the wall so would be a pain to move.

Thing is, I must as I divide my on-line time between two Win11 laptops, two Google Chrome notebooks and a mobile 'phone... Only one can have two screens...

Both of the little ones have had a good bath and interior clean ready for the weekend

I do so love those two

The big one was washed last week so didn't really need doing although she did benefit from a duster and a hoover inside

Tidying up the garden this afternoon, I enjoyed a handful of home-grown raspberries and discovered I've succeeded in growing a peony from seed

My grandad would be so proud of me...

Just as long as he never gets to know it was a happy accident and more by luck than anything else

Huge thank to Mick for supplying an HDMI cable to connect the external monitor to my laptop. It works a treat and gives both a clearer and higher resolution image than the VGA cable does - result

No automotive news to report. Not wholly unexpected given the very light use my cars are now subject to. My decision to drive only when absolutely essential, and then strictly local, whilst abandoning any plans/ambitions to travel anywhere further afield by any means has been beneficial to my overall wellbeing. As has other decisions concerning my future.

Fact is, I've seen enough of the world and the UK to last me a lifetime and have no great desire now to see any more. Been there, done it and got more teeshirts than I'll ever need

Another one repaired, serviced and ready to take photos again

This was a particularly tricky one as it had both a stuck mirror and a jammed film advance mechanism. The repair required a lot of very delicate work. Lots more valuable experience gained

After I'm happy all is good, I'll run a roll of cheap film through it. That'll prove my work

I have another with disintegrated mirror box bushings - the root cause of the sticky mirror issue these cameras suffer from. I now have some suitable nylon rod to make up some new bushings on the lathe... They are very tiny - 4mm x 1.5mm with a 2.5mm hole through them. I really need a watchmaker's lathe for this as my ML7 is a bit big for this really...

No, for now this work is strictly for my own amusement - I have no confidence to try working on one not belonging to me and potentially needed for critical work. It then stops being fun.

Besides, they're getting old now and a bit delicate at the best of times; the one I did yesterday needs to come apart again as the shutter release button has decided to fall to bits - shades of S2 AX gear knobs shattering in your hand

Once again I'm trying to keep stuff that's long past its design life going... Keeps me amused

My return to running and cycling did not last long I went to bed absolutely fine on Thursday and yesterday morning wok up hardly able to walk

How does that happen? Sleep is supposed to be a time for the body to repair itself and not break itself

I have a reoccurrence of something I've had a couple of times before: Plantar fasciitis Not uncommon amongst runners and many of my fellow runners have lots of tips for a rapid recovery...

I have ‘monkey toes’ so can sympathise, when I saw a podiatrist she went straight into the option of amputation…..I still have them.
