Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Sadly Steve my ears exploded after 19 seconds of that so I had to abandon it, however I can just about cope with this:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

It's a very small part of the German Alps

Yesterday I visited the top of a fairly well known mountain.......
Today I took the cable car to the top of a different mountain.......
Tomorrow I will not be going up any mountains !

It's all swings and roundabouts...
Interesting to see a space shuttle rubbing shoulders with a vintage car, a steam locomotive and an improbably giant duck.
Still, I suppose the space shuttle can now be considered vintage, having been about since the early 80s...

Dick, our TT Timekeeper at work last evening in quite a verdant setting
Dick's a real legend. Over 80, he still sets out the warning signs on the course each week, issues the riders their race bibs, starts them and times them...
I couldn't help thinking it made a rather good, atmospheric photo...

Snapped at parkrun this morning
My definite favourite from a few I took before the event got under way and I had to swap camera for stopwatch...

Does your carer know about this Jim? Last I knew you had given up all officiating other than Junior Parkrun on a Sunday for the benefit of your health? Surely you don't need a memory jog already?

No worries there Mick, timekeeping is, for me, a very simple and straightforward volunteer role I can do with ease and one I very much enjoymickthemaverick wrote: 14 Jun 2025, 16:30Does your carer know about this Jim? Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I can remember at least two occasions when you have told me that there has been disputes over times among the runners after the event and various emails flying around between the organisers to resolve the problems. It is that possible stress that is to be avoided and the only way to be 100% certain of not being involved in a plane crash is to not get on a plane (one falling on your head doesn't count!CitroJim wrote: 14 Jun 2025, 16:43

These days I'm just a mere private soldier Mick... The disputes I'm happy to leave to the officers to deal with
These days my shoulders have a good coating of teflon on them

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
A few snaps from Leyland Festival held today, we had a quick view (till the boys got ready for moving on!)
Normally there's a great number of classics and modern sports cars as well as a huge number of floats for a huge number of organisations and various marching bands and dance groups.
Anyroad, here's a couple of classics: Both sharing the same engine.
Ahead of them was time American pickup truck (1950's?) missed getting a picture.
Following the two captured above was a very loud Ferrari and a Lamborghini SUV - not a "proper 4x4", followed by an undoubtedly "proper" one:
