Android auto very slow

Hi, I've recently purchased a 70 plate Peugot Expert Professional and the android auto just won't work with my phone. It works perfectly with my old phone which was an Ulefone Power Armour 16 running android 12, but my new phone - ulefone X31 pro running android 14 just won't play ball.

It does connect but the screen is blank for ages although the music starts up straight away, not even sure which music app is playing. eventually the map screen does come on but its almost frozen, if you touch start then about 5 minutes later it loads up the route but freezes again. google maps on the phone screen works just fine.

I've tried various things like dissabling virtual ram on the phone and making sure it selects "file transfer" using the developer options but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

I would suggest you contact the phone suppliers and ask why your new phone does not support the system like your old phone did and have they a patch to overcome the problem.
