Last week I completed the steps that Myglaren kindly linked me to, and this has resolved the issue.

Nobody was more surprised than I was, as everything to do with our vehicles tends to be costly, so this was a great result.

Please can you tell me how you disconnected the negative terminal? Please! This I'd the exact issue I have with mine and I've had a look at going through this process but I can find where the negative terminal is on the battery, did you remove the battery completely? Please let me know, I need my car but I don't dare take the kids out in it in case we get stuck somewhere. Thank you for any help you can give me!

Assuming this is a C4 Picasso, you can't (easily) access the negative, you just have to remove the positive which is at the front of the battery.

And make sure that you put an insulating rag on the terminal when it's off.

Thanks for the useful advice on this page. I had the same issue as previous posters and have just replaced the BPGA unit which seems to have fixed the main issues of wing-mirrors not unfolding, tailgate not opening, start button needing to be pressed multiple times.

However, since replacing the BGPA I now have an issue with the indicators flashing at twice the normal speed - the garage who fitted the BPGA are totally flummoxed. Does anyone have any ideas? I haven't yet tried replacing the bulbs as I can't think they would have blown simultaneously.

Yeh I agree it's definitely the battery management unit and has nothing to do with your injectors. I wouldn't let your mechanic touch but would say change him. I have and many others too have the same problem. It's a common one with this car.

Hi Nicky sorry for the slow response. I took it back to our local garage and it turned out to be as simple as a fuse that had gone. That was replaced and problem solved - indicators back to normal. The battery management unit has solved all the other issues and I'm happy to report no problems after three months.

Hi DEJF,

Seem to be going through the same problems. Did you replace the BSI (Body System Interface) control unit fuse box or did you replace the BPGA (Battery Protection and Management Unit)? I'm thinking should I replace one or both of them.
