Hi everyone, and apologies for the long post below,
I'm the second owner of a (September registered) 2019 1.2 petrol Grand C4 Spacetourer, which has only done around 34,000 miles to date.
While driving today, an amber engine maintenance required light came on and there was a light knocking/humming noise, so I immediately pulled over, turned the engine over and had the car towed home.
I haven't had the vehicle inspected by a mechanic or garage yet, but given the wet belt's notoriety on these engines, it seems likely to be the issue.
Since I bought it in January 2023, I've had it serviced every July by independent garages, with the invoices to show the oil was changed and the correct spec oil used (I insisted on this and checked both times).
I read recently that Stellantis has increased the warranty on the wet belt to 10 years/112k miles, while also revising down the service intervals for replacing the wet belt down to 6 years. (I also read that Stellantis actually has an online form you can fill in to claim compensation if you have experienced wet belt related damage before the end of 2024... so they're clearly well aware of the problems.)
So... My question is, has anyone else had experience of getting a Citroen dealer to diagnose a similar problem, replace the wet belt, do the other related bits like the oil sump, and/or repair any damage caused by belt degradation at no customer cost?
Given the car's 6th annual service is only just over a month away and I was going to get the wet belt replaced then, I feel very unlucky — but it would also feel very unfair if I end up out of pocket for any damage or belt replacement given Stellantis's own updates.
Thanks in advance for any insight or advice (i.e.who to contact, etc).

Hi Did you get anywhere with this investigation . I am having issues now and want to know whether my 2018 car is under the 10 year warranty even though I have not had it serviced at Citroen but used a registered reputable independent garage which used correct oi and genuine parts . Did you get anywhere with the warranty offer?
Thanks
Thanks

Sorry, only just seen this. Afraid not. The problem on mine turned out to just be simple dead spark plugs, surprisingly! So a totally unrelated, non-belt breakdown.
Had the belt replaced with a new one (at my own expense) as I'd planned to shortly after the breakdown.
So never had to look into the warranty. Sorry

Maybe time to politely remind members that it's the decent thing to report progress on any queries in a reasonable time rather than have to be asked almost a year later.
