Citroen C5 X7 1.6HDi aircon cant find oring part

Unread post by Clarante143 »

Hi all,
I have checked the forum and could not find an answer for my question so i am posting it.

I have a 2009 Citroen C5 X7 and last year I had no AC. Took it to a shop, they charged me 100€ and said the issue of ac not working was a bad pipe.
Ac worked during last summer.

1 year later, no ac again. I believe the shop scammed me with some stop leak… :( as i tried to refill it again and got a leak warning.

UV dye and stop leak after, still with leak.
Inspecting the hoses the last shop said they had replaced, and they were old with some cracks.

So I have decided to replace all pipes, the condensor with integrated dryer and expansion valve.

All parts have their new Orings. The only problem is that i would like to replace also the orings from the evaporator to expansion valve, and those i can not find anywere. Not even a reference. I am assuming that a new evaporator (that i am not replacing) brings them as a pack.

Also i think i should not replace them with some regular orings. Any ideias?
Tks for the Support
Pedro

See https://catalogs.ssg.asia/citroen/?lang ... I9PQ%3D%3D which gives The id of the o-rings. O-rings compatible with the refrigerant must be used.

Hi Xantia_v6

Tks for the feedback, but in fact the orings/oring reference is not present on the schematic you mentioned.
Via the link I found them, number 2 of air conditioning EVAPORATOR - PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

https://catalogs.ssg.asia/citroen/?lang ... I9PQ%3D%3D

Looks like the pressure relief valve should come with them and they are mentioned as nº2, but even searching online I cannot find a suplier that sells the valve where the orings are present, looks like only the valve itself is sold leaving me questions about those orings.

Tried to measure them, looks like they have:
Smaller oring: Out diameter: 15mm 2mm thick
Larger oring: Out diameter: 21mm 2mm thick

But on the end I am not sure these are the "correct" measurments as these orings might be off in size.
For reference, I tried to measure the oring 7, 6460 CR, from the low pressure line where the inner diameter should be 14mm and i am measuring 14.5mm, so 0.5 mm off probalby due to age.

Another curiosity, the "old" orings are light brown, the new orings from the new pipes are green and these ones I am looking for, the no2 of the evaporator/release valve are a dark violet/purple, so I am guessing they are made from different materials.

Just did additional search and looks like this light brown are like viton type ones and the dark purple/violet EPDM.
Don't know if they need to be like that, I am guessing that they probably need to widstand the cold for example
