Oh those old things ! Yawn
All over the place here.
Red'uns used to mark property boundaries especially those in dispute or changed through sales etc.
Always put down by Geometres (land surveyors) who apparently charge a fortune for the privilege.

Maybe that was what gave them the inspiration for the anchor mechanism ;)

Hello trivia investigation enthusiasts!

Here's a question for you: does redex diesel treatment go off?

My dad having an electric car and being minded to have a slight clear out of the garage has gifted me this lovely part used bottle of treatment.

I don't recall hearing him putting the stuff in any of his vehicles since a previous mark three Astra 1.7 d estate that used to struggle at MOT emission testing, without a occasional second gear 40 miles an hour bounce off the rev limiter trip down the bypass, often with some of this magic potion added beforehand.
Said Astra probably left his ownership around 20 years ago
Hence my question!

:-D what do you think does say a bunch of paraffin and some green dye last forever? Or better thrown away rather than chucked into the tank of one of my current vehicles?

I had a look on a technical forum I use occasionally and a similar question about petrol Redex had been answered. So this is straight from the horses mouth:
BFTW
BFTW
Personally I'd consider using it for cleaning oily things but I wouldn't put it in the fuel. :-D

On my trip to Germany I wore my blue faced watch and put my red faced one in my case. When I went to wear the red faced one in Germany I saw with a quick glance that it appeared to have stopped so I returned it to my case thinking " I'll replace the battery when I get home".

When I got home last night I took it out and noticed it was not showing the twenty past three it had shown when I thought the battery had died. On closer examination I found myself somewhat amazed - I started this filming a few minutes after I had synchronised them at 00.47:

After "tapping it" a few times it returned to normal and has now been running with perfect time for 12ish hours ????????????????? :? :? :?
