Hi all, first post to this forum but I’m looking for help regarding my 2013 1.6THP pug 308.
Around 1 month ago, I had an EML with two separate misfires which a garage diagnosed as spark plugs, these were changed and the car was fine for around a week.
The EML light then came back on, fault codes P0087 and P0172 this time around, 5-6 different independent garages looked at my car over a period of 2 weeks and not a single one was able to accurately diagnose my issue. Eventually, I caved and took it to the main dealer who for the small price of £180 diagnosed it as a faulty HPFP which they quoted me £1300 for, I had the HPFP replaced today at an independent garage for £900, everything was fine for around 15 miles, until I now have the EML light back on, car back in limp mode, with a new fault code of P0088, stating that the fuel pressure is now too high instead of the P0087 (pressure too low) that I had before.
the car is only on 43,000 miles, it had a new timing chain tensioner before I purchased it at around 38,000, it was serviced on 39,000 miles and then again at 42,500 miles. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing my issue?
HPFP misdiagnosis? Or something else

I don't have experience of that fault, but I think that diagnosis requires inspecting the live engine parameters, not just the fault codes. It could be the pressure sensor or the pump, or the wiring to either.

Re: HPFP misdiagnosis? Or something else
The RAC came out yesterday and checked the live fuel pressure readings that all seemed to be within parameters.
He was sure that maybe the fuel line had air / a kink in it from the garage fitting the new HPFP that could’ve been causing a buildup of pressure.
