Hello,
My friend has Jumpy 1.9 d and on the right engine mount (passanger side) all of the bolts that Hold the aluminum bracket that is between engine mount and the engine block itself just snapped and the motor almost fell to the ground. Miracoulously the plastic Belt cover saved the engine so all i need is to extract the broken bolts and reasswmble with new ones.
My problem is that I CANT find any for sale on-line or info on the specs for the bolts (lenght, Threads,…)
I hope someone here can help me with some info.
Thanks
Jumpy 1.9d engine mount bolts snapped

Thx for the reply, already solved it. I had to weld nuts on the broken bolts and screw them out (really shady work, welding inside the engine bay), then measured the length and threads from the broken bolts and the next day car was outta garage

My thought on the cause of this is likely that they had worked loose over the years and ended up snapping through vibration induced metal fatigue.
I've found them a little loose on occasion and when down in that area of the engine, a good plan to check them.

Re: Jumpy 1.9d engine mount bolts snapped
Is this the upper mount beside the top run of the cambelt? I had a BX Estate where the mounting carrier broke off due to the mounting bolts being too long. They were presumably fully tight, but in the block, and not properly clamping the carrier. So it could hammer back and forth with engine torque until the bolts sheared. It broke on holiday in France, and the local Citroen agent was most helpful in doing the repair.
On a later BX Estate, I checked this engine fixing, and low and behold it had exactly the same problem. I got it in time to remove and replace the bolts with the correct length.
I put the problem down to the subcontractor Huillez (?) who built the estates. There were various other things that also seemed a bit slipshod.

Hi,
It was on the timing belt left side, the owner who called me told me he got a new timing kit installed about a 3/4 year ago, so my guess is the shop used the old/incorrect bolts. The funny thing is that the whole Engine reste on the plastic belt cover, so thats a +1 for the old french engineers
