Yep, you can see the other side of that silencer in the pic I posted. It'll be for the suction side of the tank - no doubt they do night-time working so the vacuum mech needs to be quietened down to a dull roar.

I omitted to include my rooms in the last couple of places so I have just taken a few quick pictures to show what you can have in Colwyn Bay for £67 including brekkie!!:

The dated but very comfortable furniture with all you need including USB outlets

In addition there is one picture I missed posting in last night's post. Along the coastal road to Colwyn we came across a very necessary set of chevrons at night I should imagine!!

In summary of this afternoon:
A very nice and very reasonable meal was had by all (bacon and sausage butty, double sausage butty, tuna mayo jacket spud and cheese on toast variously) - thank you Paul!
Followed by some scrummy lemon drizzle cake (X3) and coffee and walnut cake (X1)

Interspersed with enjoyable conversation on numerous topics including : hoarding, miscellaneous ailments, sporty diesels of the late '80's, electric estate cars, colour choices for play houses, garages and summerhouses plus the surprising effectivity of aluminium paint/solar reflective paint, France, the German autobahn, plus comprehensive run through the explorer's continues route plan aided by this sort of folding analogue sat nav substitute things

A really good time was had by all. I can't believe we covered so many topics in such a short time. Great to meet up with everyone.

Day 4 began in the breakfast room of the Bryn Woodlands House in Colwyn Bay where we were served a truly superb breakfast which set us up for the day, As an aside I have to say that the night spent there was spot on in every way with a very warm welcome from Joel on arrival and then superb facilities and great humour over breakfast from Tracey, they are a lovely couple and run a superb house with lovely homely touches like these on the breakfast table which make you feel very much at home:

After breakfast we set off along the coast to meet Paul and Matt for lunch. On the way we stopped for a look round the cockle industry and Flint but I'll let the pictures do the talking!! Firstly a short video showing the strength of the incoming tide!!

Arriving at St Barts we enjoyed a great lunch as already posted by Matt and Paul and thanks to them for treating us!! Matt has already covered the contents so I'll move on to our journey from lunch to tonight's hotel in Matlock. We had a relatively poor trip through the busy roads of Runcorn, Widnes and Warrington to the point that we had to alter our planned route to head down the A6 to Buxton and on through Bakewell to Matlock in order to get there in time for our planned dinner. We succeeded in that and enjoyed a couple of relaxing beers while waiting for dinner. Then we retired to our rooms and I took a couple of pictures of mine to show my pair of double beds, my shower which is big enough to go for a run round and my basin adequate to be used as a baby bath!! Now it's time for some sleep before breakfast tomorrow and our journey home.

Day 5 began by opening my bedroom curtains to see the view:

I went down to breakfast passing the first floor relaxation area:

and had a croissants and coffee breakfast in the High Tor hotel in Matlock's dining room:

Then we got in the car and headed home without any further visits. We stopped for lunch at a 16th Century Inn and were flabergasted when, having ordered our drinks Bob grabbed a menu to discover it was an Indian Restaurant!! I don't eat spiced food at all and Bob didn't want to eat alone so we had a snack and then got back in the car to complete our journey. We had to make a petrol stop and we were astounded at the difference in petrol costs over a 48 hour period and between Caurmarton and Moreton in the Marsh. In Caurmarton we paid £1.38 per litre of Shell Vpower and in Moreton it was £1.59 per litre !! However it did give Bob the chance to grab a pasty to make sure he doesn't fade away. Having refilled we carried on to Reading where I dropped Bob off and then came home myself.

It was a brilliant trip and we both enjoyed it immensely and thanks to Gibbo, Paul and Matt for making the effort and coming to meet and treat us!! Roll on the next trip, as yet to be thought of!!
