Hi first time question so be gentle.
Does Citroen change there recommendations for what oil to use?
I've got a c3 aircross and going off the previously Halfords webpage they recommended 0w30w which what we've been using
But I've gone to get some more now they say it needs 5w30 at 85 for five litres
And every where I look it no recommends 5w30w
Happy to supply my reg privately.
Do I need to get a oil change to update it to 5w30w
Any help is gratefully received
Dan

Re: What oil??
What engine does it have ? Oil changes are usually once a year so if your spec changed early last year whoever put the oil in may have got it wrong. Oil specs are often changed in light of problems engines are giving. The 1.5 hdi oil spec changed early last year and it is not just the viscosity that changes but the spec of the oil. To get the most up to date spec for your car you should ask your dealer for a printout of the service schedule.
You might be best getting the Total version of the correct spec for your car - through ebay sellers Total oils are not too expensive and Citroen recommend Total.

Re: What oil??
Hi all guys...
This is also my first post on the forum.
I recently bought a 2013 Citroën C3 1.2 VTi (VTi 82) as a small city car for the kids.
It has 86,000 km on the clock, and I’d like to replace the timing belt kit right away due to the well-known issues associated with this engine.
Is there a reliable link or resource where I can check the correct engine oil specification using the VIN?
Any advice or input from experienced members would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance, folks!

Your engine is probably HMZ-EB2 and you can see in the table which oil is suitable.
