CALLING GIBBO!!!

I have just had an email from The Angel Hotel, Coleford advising me that they don't serve food on Sunday evenings but that there are a number of places within easy walking distance that do. Could you advise on this one Gibbo?

I have little experience of any of them Mick but here's a list, Kaplans is a decent enough place, the ere in both Lydney and Coleford the others are both ends of the market top price like the Speech House and Bells or greasy spoon, there are others around the locality just out of town, I'll ask my neighbour who knows more a bout them

I tried the links on the Council's site and they come up '404 not found' but if you copy and paste them they work

Yes it works for me too and a few of them are closed on Sundays so I'll watch the snooker now and get back to it in the morning on the laptop. On phone in bedroom at the mo and it's just too small for comparison tasks!!

I've not tried it Mick but the write ups seem good, only just around the corner from the Angel, suits me if you want to give it a try.
I would have recommended The Gamekeeper Inn at Five Acres for an old fashioned pub style experience but I've not been there for a couple of years and it's further out of town.

When Bob gets back to me re the Italian, where I know he does enjoy a good pizza, I'll probably book that on the basis of four factors:

Within walking distance of the hotel
Forester's recommendation
Good reviews and reasonable prices
No current knowledge of the Gamekeepers, and you never know what you might find!!
