Xantia MK II - Part number for height corrector overhaul

Unread post by lancia58 »

Hi,

There is a thread describing how to overhaul in which there are part numbers for the overhaul. Anyone can send the link for the thread or alternatively the part numbers used for overhauling the height corrector

Thanks

Maybe Jim's write-up at https://eastment.net/hcrefurb/index.htm is useful?

What is wrong with yours ?....90% of the time it is just a good strip and clean.....the height correctors are all the same....CX,BX,Xantia, XM etc....there are no O rings for example.

5 410 408 CORRECTOR CUP (dust cap no hole)
5 410 407 CORRECTOR CUP (dust cap w/ hole)
5 410 406 AJUSTER RING (steel retainer ring for diaphragm)
5 410 405 CORRECTOR CUP (outer steel dish on diaphragm)
5 410 732 CORR DIAPHRAGM (diaphragm)
6979 55 STOP-RING (tiny C-lock ring on valve rod)

I think I posted this before. I found was that sluggish operation was due to near blockage of the damper nozzles, and I had good success clearing these without dismantling except to remove (and plug to prevent tank flow back) the rubber drain tube. Then fit a length of similar rubber on a suitable syringe to push petrol in and out. This expands the diaphrams enough to get flow through the nozzles, so pump the petrol back and forth, taking long enough to allow it to dissolve the crud. The necessary amount of petrol was small, so I did not bother to try to eliminate it, but you could wait until LHM flows out if worried. Make sure you put the car safely on blocks to do this.
