turbo problem?

Unread post by rasicon »

my c5 break III from 2009, diesel has started to get hiccup when i increase speed sometimes and i have air pollution system malfunction problem sometimes the car says.
when i read error codes last time i got: p0098, p0488, p0490, p2562, any advice what the problem is? i have had the car only for 1 month so not long, the owner before sayed something about a sensor to the turbo needed to be replaced, but i have a problem believing that.

Those codes relate to air intake temp too high, two codes for EGR and the last one is turbocharger repeat solenoid position (this is the system that adjusts and monitors the position of the variable geometry of the turbo).

I’d ignore the intake temp too high for now, look into the egr (first) and then the turbocharger geometry position.

If you search on the forum you’ll find some guidance on these codes from previous users.
For example this thread with some information relating to P2562

While the code definition will be the same though (standard OBD2 definitions) and diagnostic process will be broadly similar, be careful that any specific information you see in a post on the forum about for example where the component is located, is relevant to the engine in your car.

Thanks for the reply, i will check on that thread, i have heard that it is possible to clean the egr and i am thinking about doing that and maybe that can solve the problem. but will check on the forum for same code, i really need the car so i want to last awhile.

got p2562 and p1351 instead this game, i dont know what happened with the last codes, but this time i used a cheaper obd machine so that might be the reason,
p1351 something with the glowstick it says.
the strange thing with the car, is when it is cold outside the car works fine but when it is little warm or warmer it gets hiccup when accelerate.

P1351 is related to the glow plugs and is not something usually to be bothered about.

i removed air temp sensor and removed and it was very oily, i guess something is wrong with the turbo. Do i need to replace the turbo or any solutions?
