And here was me saying I never see scams... Seems I do in my professional life

Rather scary. Easily seen as a scam by the sender's email address being the usual sort of spammy fictitious but otherwise just a bit too plausible, given the reason for the disablement...

Happily, our page remains good. Very worrying given I'm the principal photographer at the events and regularly publish my albums of pictures on the page.

Google, to their credit - whom parkrun uses for email services - correctly determined the email to be suspicious and popped it into the junk folder.

I have just has a phone call (supposedly from London, equally supposedly from Vodafone) from +44 204 614 7408. Usual quiet first four seconds, followed by "Hello". I responded "Hello", and they then said they were from Vodafone. As this is a company phone, and managed by my employer I hung up and blocked the number.

I have also just run a check on this number, and it seems to have become active today. I have reported this number to Vodafone (who are our network provider) using the 7726 text number.

I had a repeat today of the one I had the other day, decided to forward it to the .gov phishing report site, it won't go, I keep getting

"An error occurred inside the server which prevented it from fulfilling the request."

Do you reckon that's a shortcoming at TalkTalk or has the scammer been able to somehow block the report?

Did you use this address Gibbo? [email protected].
If that doesn't work try going on their website and use the reporting link from there:

This looks a lot like spam/phishing to me.
Direct debit already taken this month, they have the dates and amount completely wrong.
Reported to BT.

More "definitely" than "maybe". Just look at the sender's email address. This is where phones fall down badly as they omit the email address when viewing.

First thing I checked. I'm still with BT, it hasn't changed to EE for me yet.
I was told it would and have been expecting it. The girl next door works for BT/EE.

Yes 100% agree with Paul, that is a scam for certain and I had a similar one last week concerning my DD for Vodaphone. Sadly I have not got, and never have had anything to do with Vodaphone let alone a DD in their favour!! Purely speculative phishing by the perpetrator, presumably going on the basis that if you send enough out someone somewhere will fall for it and click the link!! :)
