I think the sideboard in the hall must be worth a pretty penny.

There is a garage and a quite big yard behind the roller door Jim, their son has been doing resprays in there for years, a bit of a DIY set up though, shame they didn't do photos with the door open.

I did wonder if the roller door was part of the property and might hide a workshop of decent size...Gibbo2286 wrote: 06 Mar 2025, 18:27 There is a garage and a quite big yard behind the roller door Jim, their son has been doing resprays in there for years, a bit of a DIY set up though, shame they didn't do photos with the door open.
I find it very disappointing that estate agents are very shy about garages in general and those glossy TV programmes about houses such as Escape to the Country never acknowledge them. Sometimes you see a tantalising peek and nothing more
The saddest thing I see is when a perfectly good garage is converted into another room - a true tragedy that totally destroys the property and any interest in it.
Mind you, I'd say, going on what happens around here, a good proportion of those still extant are nothing more than somewhere to hide redundant tat and rubbish. Some though, do hide incredible workshops and even a few classic cars and motorcycles I was unaware of until I saw the garage open...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Coming home from a visit to my parents I had a stag the size of a horse leap left to right over my car barely clearing the bonnet.
My uncle who used to do night runs delivering Birmingham Mails to Wales in a Morris van hit something in the wartime blackout, shattered his windscreen , police told him next day that it was a horse and it had run near ten miles before collapsing and dying.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Reminded me of something, and links garage discussions and the picture above:
A couple of weeks ago I had need to nip into my messy garage at about 6:20 am on a Tuesday morning, just before setting off to work. As I flung the door open, a brown streak shot across the garage at high speed and I jumped out my skin! Fortunately I did notice the direction of travel and where it at sprung to.
- Spoiler: show
Looking very much leaner than on its the "missing" poster it seemingly had enough roaming wild and free, living on what it could catch and, I think, had entered the garage at some point when the door was wide open most of Sunday (whilst I was messing with the car)
None of us had been in the garage all day Monday so not quite sure what it had made of its new predicament, but it definitely wasn't expecting me throwing in the door open bright and early Tuesday morning!
Incredibly timid and obviously frightened, thankfully my wife managed to find eventually coax it out from behind the grey cupboard (it disappeared two-thirds out of view from how pictured above, I was concerned it was going to scramble out of view completely!)
My boys enjoyed meeting the new visitor:

All's that ends well. Got me out of a trip into the office, silver linings!!

No, but new ones are in the early design stages and they are reported to contain graphics of failed rockets, devices for performing percussion maintenance and grass trimming implements - all on a red background...
