The old gal's still a good'un

Unread post by Vic Evans »

Don't use my 25 year old Pug 806 very often now so she sits in the barn with an occasional transfusion of electricity to keep her old heart going. The last 2 yearly controle tecnique (MOT) showed about 500 km per year which would be for trips to the tip where her load carrying capacity is invaluable.
With the warm weather approaching I thought a trip out might do her good so, with a little trepidation as she's not been run for at least 6 months, I put the key in, checked all the lights were 'go' & turned it.
Bless her! The old gal started instantly & ran like a good'un. A 30 km trip soon de-rusted the disks & drums & an inspection on my return showed no leaks etc.
She's probably worth less than 2,000€ but worth much more than that to me for how useful she is.
With no UK road tax equivalent & very cheap old codgers limited kilometrage insurance she doesn't cost much to keep so here's hoping for many more years of service from her.
Next Controle due end of this year so I'll be hoping for another two years with the Old Pug.
