help!! lol..

I was fishing around blindly looking for my engine speed sensor and I took this clip off something.. but I don't know where it goes!

it's from the flywheel/gearbox area on an RHY(dw10td) Citroen C5

may be on the berlingo or something else, they used that engine mostly in other vehicles..

it's mot ready apart from this, I'm scared to drive it anywhere though

That's a pin to hold the brake pad pins/wedges in place not sure if it's used anywhere else but I've used them sometimes where they weren't supposed to be just for convenience.

They put the clip through the connector of the crank sensor plug to help stop it accidentally popping off.

by any chance, could this be the locking pin on the gearbox that prevents changing from 5th to reverse??

Nope, Almost certainly off the engine speed sensor connector as i said above. They fit them on the connector to stop the accidently disconnecting.
