You'll find one in most larger towns these days Steve and generally they are very friendly and welcoming places. Their main business is selling shoes and nearly always they have a specialist on the staff who is able to analyse your running gait (on a treadmill or observing you run around the shop) and advise the most suitable shoes for your needs.

Never be scared to go in one. Our local one is called 'Up and Running' and is part of a small chain.

Nothing to interesting to report as nothing of any interest has happened recently due to illness

I'm just so relieved I got both my working cars serviced beforehand. Not that it really matters as I can't drive either very far or very competently currently.

Fundamentally, a minor viral has resulted in a massive ME flare-up and has left me physically profoundly fatigued, dizzy and mentally, many IQ points below usual with the concomitant fogginess of thought.

It may all resolve tomorrow or it may be with me for weeks. I have no way of telling. Whilst it continues, everything is on hold/cancelled/postponed. I have around two hours in a day when I'm reasonably compos-mentis and get all I need to do then. The rest of the day is mostly spent slumped in front of the TV. No idea what I'm watching - whatever BBC1 is showing...

That says all about how rough I currently am

Yesterday I actually almost enjoyed 'Pointless' although I have absolutely no understanding of the basic gameplay of the show whatsoever...

The only shining star in such a dark sky of afternoon TV is the 'Repair Shop on the Road' or whatever it's called... Now that silly git with the flat cap has gone, it's now quite a good show. The restoration of a set of photographs for a planned Lockerbie memorial was absolutely superb.

Today is another day like yesterday, the very bright part is that I'll be seeing my all-time favourite granddaughter

On engineering-related subjects, I've ordered a Dremel kit as I may well need it soon - more to follow when I'm well enough to use it for the purpose I've bought it for... Trying to do what I need to do with a head that feels like it's just drunk a couple of pints of old Somerset Cider is a proper no-go, as is driving

Nothing wrong with binge-watching antiques road trip or escape to the country, but I think that you would get more of a smile from watching the videos on the SeasideGarage YT channel. https://youtube.com/@seasidegarage . Seppo is a really nice character, and mostly competent.

I'm very hopeful my consumption of mind-numbing TV is coming to a close now Mike If I ever become chronically ill - or rather, more chronically - I'll seriously look at a YT subscription to avoid adverts. Currently I can't justify it.

I am so allergic to adverts they bring me out in a rash...

Yesterday, Robyn explained to me the 'Pointless' gameplay... I now understand. I thought it was pointless as in 'what's the point of this?' rather than Pointless as in the normal UK Eurovision score of nul points I still think my first interpretation is more correct - on reflection...

A day out with an ever-precocious little girl did me a world of good yesterday

On seeing an artic. lorry minus its trailer she said: 'Oh look, a tractor!' (she loves all things tractor currently...)

Me: 'Well done Autumn! that's indeed a tractor unit for a big lorry'

Autumn: 'Yes granddad, a tractor unit!'

We spent a long time in the play gym and we both emerged absolutely shattered. It's only when we observe her around her peers we appreciate just how far advanced she is...

Playing with a big play dice yesterday she demonstrated her counting skills by correctly counting all the spots.

I never see adverts other than the stuff that Ashley Neal puts in his videos. I just skip past that crap.
Only ever watch iPlayer as it is advert free. Not much of that either. Witless Silence 'cause I like Emilia Fox, and Scandi Noir stuff, just watched a nice Danish series "Den Som Draeber".

Sorry, I always associate the word 'cast' with sea fishing...

More seriously; I don't know about my laptops but I know I can with one of my phones but the result was a bit disappointing with jerky motion and terrible lipsync...

I just use an HDMi cable to connect the laptop to the TV, in the past it was a VGA cable, remember them? Works fine for me!! Having said that you may find some broadcast stations automatically inhibit your HDMi output so that's the time to use a VGA

Ahh! Thanks for that Mick, I have both flavours of cable here and I know at least one of my laptops has an HDMI port... As does my telly...

Just been playing with my firestick. Ensure both devices on same wifi, (I have 2 or 5 to choose so both on 2) If you go into settings>display&audio>enter your pin then select enable display mirroring.

Once that is shown enter windows key + K and the laptop will search and find the Firestick, click on connect and it might work!! Mine seems to find each other, start connecting and then drop out!! Hmmmm!
