407 RT3 language & cd changer

This is the RT3 unit and was made by Magneti Marelli
The RT3 was available in a few different hardware versions, the later ones supporting MP3 playback. These units had an optical connection to the Display Screen.

407 RT3 language & cd changer

Unread post by DragonofYoRHa »

Hello everyone,

My 407 SW has two issues with the RT3.
I cannot for the life of me get the cd changer to be discharged from the cartridge. The fuse isn’t blown and I can change the source but it won’t discharge.

Other than that, I require the CD-rom for changing the language. I cannot seem to find the file in the server. Attached is a picture of the version I have.

Thanks,

Dragon

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to - are you saying the 6 CD Changer won't eject any CDs or that the RT3 won't Eject a CD from the built-in single slot?

As for the Language change, I'll send you a Private Message with a link to create the ISO required.

Hello,

The 6 CD won’t eject the cartridge holding the cd’s. Not a big deal right now so low-priority,

As for the language change, I need some technical assistance.
Is it also normal after burning the file that it takes a very long time before headunit is done changing? The unit recognizes the cd, asked me If i wanted to start changing and even started rebooting a few times but due to time limitations whilst doing it I had to turn the car off after waiting 15+ minutes the bar was filling but got “stuck” at the end. i waited for roughly 8 minutes on the full bar before I had to leave. I haven’t turned the car on since. Could I have burnt incorrectly?

Many thanks,

It can take a long time - this is CD technology! - if you interrupt the process you can brick the unit. By comparison, even a later Touchscreen unit with NO Hard Drive can take 45 minutes to update the firmware using faster USB transfer rates - so you need to allow an hour at least with the engine running. If you can't commit to this, don't start the process as you may make things worse.
