Cleaning the area with salt water is supposed to work.

The best thing for blood is saliva - it contains an enzyme that breaks it down.

Thanks all, I will report back...
I asked a nurse today, being sure she'd know especially as her work involves plenty of it. 'Not a clue dad, maybe a stain remover?'
In her defence I guess the hospital laundry deals with it for her...
mickthemaverick wrote: 20 Jan 2025, 11:57I came across this old compact film camera today complete with a film in it but I've dumped that cos I can't be bothered to see if it is any good !!![]()
I've been loaned this camera for a while... The internal battery, cunningly hidden under a cover secured with two small screws, was completely flat.
As it got some very good reviews in its day, I have a replacement battery on order - still very readily available - and a roll of 400 ASA film.
I was quite surprised at the cost of 35mm film these days. Almost a tenner for 36 exposures from Amazon although since then I've found it available for a a bit less from a couple of online sources...
I suppose the demand is not there these days and given the film contains a bit of silver...
I'll run it through the camera and then have it processed. If all good and I enjoy shooting in proper black and white I'll be looking at doing the processing - as I used to long ago. I used to find great satisfaction in doing so.
I may be on the look-out for a decent 35mm SLR camera

I use Wizz Oxi stain digestor when I do my laundry (1 scoop as well as my normal soap), and this seems to work well.

For a pool of petrol heads I'm surprised nobody has mentioned what I use - Swarfega, works a treat on blood and other bodily fluids!!

The camera battery and film arrived today and the camera appears to be good. I'll not know for sure until I've taken 35 more exposures and developed the film.
I've started to refit Bluebell's starter motor...
Nothing will be done tomorrow on the cars as I'll be in Daventry running as far as I can in the allocated six hours. The weather may have an influence
