I just added this as I was swapping out the rad on the C5.. I'm so sick of having to pull clamps and hoses off to drain coolant and then it goes everywhere bar where you want it. This will allow me to direct the flow.

I was wondering what is the point of the split doseur valve on the 136hp engine.I bought a lower turbo pipe and it is the split type and I have a double doseur so wondering is it worth considering putting the split in. All I need is the soft pipe. This engine originally ran with the double doseur but I don't know what the implications would be for it.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I found the problem with the oil sensor it was disconnected. The connector is very loose so I will have to tape it into position I think for now anyway. I think the connector on the sensor is cracked slightly so I'll probably have to replace it in the medium term.

Darren,
On my C5 X7 it was a split plastic pipe but only 1 doseur valve. So I have never found out why . Citroen must have changed something which only requires the 1 valve.

I think it had a plastic cap, but maybe another member with a later version can check and reply.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I have it running nice now, there is a slight tapping from cylinder 3 or 4 I'm not sure which. She is a bit smokey/steamy when cold but nothing like it was and the wife's 508 is the same so I think it is Normal. She clears up grand when warm so I think I finally fixed it. I will do an autopsy on the old engine when I have more time and the work shop available to me.
The egr pipe threads are stripped so I need to helicoil them and then refill the coolant. I'm hoping to be booking her test in the next couple of weeks. Mechanically she is now acceptable to me. It will take a few weeks to get her clean enough for a test as she is full of parts and tools. Hopefully by the first or second week in February
In other news I put the Primera through the NCT last night and she failed on a tyre and a brake light bulb. So get it sorted and get a years test on it and shift it on.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Thanks Matt, yeah good to get it running. I still think that new regulator was the main cause of my problems with the fueling issue. There was a lot going on contributing to all the issues. Still loads to do but all of just reassembly.
Have you gotten near the C5 yourself. Check and make sure you don't have air in the system. It caused havoc on mine and it took me a while to realise it. It seems to be a common enough issue on these. Try bleeding it through the return into a fuel tank. It took two fuel cans to clear all the air from the system. I ran about 30 litres of diesel through the system to clear it.

Nah, sadly not been near it for weeks! Let the weather improve a bit and hopefully I'll get back at it. House jobs instead as they've not been impacted by the wintery weatherHave you gotten near the C5 yourself. Check and make sure you don't have air in the system. Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Probably more important for you to get the house finished anyway. I think reassembly shouldn't be too bad. A good day should do most of it it's just getting a good run at it is easier said than done.
I have the egr sorted and the coolant replaced. I want to clean the engine bay because the work on the fuel system wasn't exactly smooth sailing. So. I had a few small spills

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I've put the front back on today. She threw depollution system faulty again today all egr related I think the egr needs replacing. I cleaned it when it was off the car and did the relearn and it took but it keeps throwing sticking fault and solenoid short circuit I think it said. P0406,P0409,P2413. It all points to a bad egr she started smoking again as well so I think it is sticking open. I'll order a new one at the end of the month.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Hi all, bad news, I brought the C5 for a rip and it's like a fog machine I nearly got lost on the way back the smoke was that bad. I'm going declare it off the road and figure out where I go next. I can't work on it for a while I've other priorities. It looks like the Primera is going to get some love for a while. It's reliable.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
P12AB injector stuck closed doesn't sound like something that could cause the smoke. Only other fault is glowplug ghost fault and an abs sensor. Im back to thinking I don't have a single good injector because of the way it's running. Either that or the replacement engine is a ball of crap as well which I am not convinced of. I have to get a little nut turned for an injector type compression tester I am making up for this. I need to do a compression test to put my mind at ease.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I bought a set of tested injectors off eBay. Due to arrive today. Hopefully they will sort it out. I'm convinced it's still injectors.
