Safety Recall Letter

Hi All,

I have received a letter that looks genuine about a my 2010 C4 regarding issues with Air Bag inflators supplied by Takata.
It came with a page from DVSA, so was a little dubious as the car is nearly 15 years old.
However, i have checked on the Gov check MOT history site and yes it shows my vehicle has a safety recall listed.
It is a free replacement according to the letter so just letting everyone know as i guess this will be across not just PSA badged vehicles.
Happy to get it done at the dealers, just don't want them finding " other faults " that i know are not there

"Takata Corporation (???????, Takata Kabushiki Gaisha) was a Japanese automotive parts company. In 2013, a series of deaths and injuries associated with defective Takata airbag inflators made in their Mexico plant led to a recall of 3.6 million cars equipped with Takata airbags. Further fatalities caused by the airbags have led the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to order an ongoing, US-wide recall of more than 42 million cars, the largest automotive recall in U.S. history. In June 2017, Takata filed for bankruptcy. It was acquired by Key Safety Systems. As of January 2024, over 100 million airbag inflators worldwide have been recalled by more than 20 carmakers."

Just wanted to make sure in case anyone else was dubious due to the age of the car
Can the dealer do the replacement and "find other faults" and not let the vehicle out until fixed, think you know where i am coming from
On a side note KAE passed the MOT with only headlights faded as advisories

Highly unlikely as they'll want to get the car in and out of the door as quickly as possible. Even an MOT tester can't stop you leaving in a car that's tested as dangerous.
I had my pick-up truck recalled a couple of years ago for the passenger airbag (13 years old ??) and it was done as quickly as they could !

On a side note KAE passed the MOT with only headlights faded as advisories

Not all PSA cars are affected - it will be certain vehicles built between a certain date - but if affected, you'll get a DVSA letter. There's no After-sales campaign being flagged for the vehicle - so are likely being handled separately for this issue:

Thanks for that info, much appreciated.
That is exactly the information i received in the post.
Just didn't want to send it in and they do a scan and say they have found something and it costs me £xxx to get it back in unrelated issue to the recall
