I still have it and it still works...

The above is/was a 35mm not a digital Jim....as you can tell from the ASA and F-stop controls

As said, a FANTASTIC little jem

Sorry Alasdair, given the slide-open and similar styling I made the error of assuming it was digital. I really should have made a new year resolution not to assume anything ;)

Reading this reminded me of 2 old cameras I have in a drawer.
A Minolta that was for the Japanese market only. Bought this just before films went digital. Fantastic quality pictures for a thrash and go. Then my first non-film camera that used a floppy disk.

Not used much since I went I-Phone but a fairly lightweight compact digi cam

I do have another digi one with a wide angle lens but the first time I used it, it sucked the life out of a normal battery - needs ‘special’ powerful batteries from what I can remember

I'm enjoying seeing all these cameras :) Keep 'em coming ;

A while back I had a look at two of Mick's little Olympus digital cameras. One worked well after reviving its battery but the other one was found to be rather sick.

I dismantled it and found what I believe is the reason... It's memory backup battery has catastrophically failed and spilled its contents :(

I fear this otherwise rather lovely little camera is now beyond repair... And nor will it yield spares for my other duff Olympus camera.

My other digi camera - used once for it’s wide-angle but drained normal AA batteries too quickly :(

Never knew Samsung made cameras!

A good candidate for rechargeable batteries ;) They can be a bit juicy...

That old Kodak DC120 I had as my first digital camera ate ordinary batteries in a couple of weeks but Energiser Lithium AAs lasted a whole year and a trip round the world.
My current camera is a Pentax Optio VS 20 and runs on dedicated rechargeable batteries, like the one in this ad. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/146073894062 ... ce1635a58d

None of mine work on anything but rechargeable batteries.
The Olympus has a dedicated one. The others take AAAs but they don't last five minutes if not rechargeable, the Nikon is especially greedy and even rechargeables don't last long.

My Oregon which I posted earlier uses 2 x AAAs and a pair of Energiser Li have been in there for 18 months and still going strong, although I've probably only taken around 50 shots in that time! :-D

Thanks All - Yes I think a charger & re-chargeable NiMH batteries may have to be purchased if I’m to get familiar with it’s capabilities

I used to borrow my girlfriend's dad's Voigtländer* Bessamatic with Zoomar lens. Fabulous camera.
