207CC roof problem

Unread post by ericjohanwillems »

Hi All,

I love driving my Peugeot 207cc (2007 model) with the roof down.
My roof always worked like a charm: no noises, quickly etc.)

Suddenly the following was the case:
I tried to open the roof:
Pressed switch down, windows lowered all four, roof procedure started as normal (boot lid opened, roof folded in).
After my roof was folded in, the parcel shelf did not come up, the pump kept working a few seconds and after that my display reported: roof mechanism faulty.
The boot lid was still up.

As i tried to close the roof with my switch, it started to fold out of the trunk, but at the same time, the boot lid started closing.. if i hadn't released the switch, they would have collided.

All left to do was close the roof manually.

The following has already been done to it:
Checked the following micro-switches:
3 at the parcel shelf (all ok; but they are soldered to a circuit board with some other components)
2 (left/richt) at the boot locking mechanism (nearby the U clips)
1 in the back of the boot lid (near the licence plate)
Changed the roof-computer

The following has not been done yet:
check the wiring harness for a wire break: before removing all covers please tell me where it's most likely to search.

I hoped to find a wiring diagram or even better: a error-look-up scheme in the donated member section but there's no such thing in there..

Who can help me, has had the same problem AND found a fix for it?

Your help is very much appreciated!

Hi Eric, welcome and thankyou for your Forum donation.

Please provide your VIN (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff) and I'll see if I have a diagram for you.

PS, I have deleted your other post on this matter to avoid duplication of answers. Please keep this issue together here.

First thing to to is check earth point MC60 as this is known to cause roof problems.
Remove & clean the eyelets, nut & earth point itself then re fit.
Do you have Diagbox to check live data from the microswitches?

Thank you VERY much for your reply, the scheme and the earthing hint!

Unfortunately i dont't have Diagbox. That would be so helpfull though!

I tried cleaning (used a piece of sanding paper to thorroughly remove any dirt and corrosion.) Unfortunately life gave me lemons: it didn't solve the problem.

I'll get out my multimeter and start checking if the wiring harness has broken wires in it because of bending stress.

All tips/tricks are welcome and much appreciated!

The most common cause of problems with folding roofs is broken wires in the harnesses where they flex during operation.

It save a lot of effort if you have diagbox to read fault codes and check the operation of the limit switches.

los sensores son todos enteros, la computadora los ve en un momento determinado da 2 errores: 0883, 08A?

the sensors are all intact, the computer sees them at a certain moment, it gives 2 errors: 0883 , 08AC

Just to ensure that there is not misunderstanding, can you describe what position your roof is in now, and how it got there?

Did you check the sensors directly, or via a diagnostic tool?

What diagnostic tool did you use to obtain the error codes, I am not sure that those codes are related to the roof ECU?

the trunk lid opens, the roof fits into the trunk and falls into an accident. when I open it back up, the roof rises and the trunk falls onto the roof, I stop there so that they don't collide. I read errors using the launcher. LN sees and responds to all sensors

I have exactly the same problem on a 2012 207cc. Did you manage to resolve it?
