Mick's Motoring April Adventure
The time has come for Jim and I to get on the road again for a relatively short 3 day tour of East Anglia. This is day one of planning so I can say the schedule is from April 3rd to 5th. Initial thoughts are to spend the night of Thursday 3rd in or around Hunstanton having spent some time at Anglia Car Auctions in Kings Lynn viewing the stock for the weekend sale. Then Friday 4th will see us look in on the North Norfolk Railway and down through Broadland to spend the night around Gorleston for Jim to do the Gorleston Cliffs Parkrun on Saturday morning before we head on through Suffolk via Bury St Edmunds and Lavenham before arriving home on Saturday afternoon.
As ever anyone around the route who can come and join us for lunch or dinner please shout and we'll be able to refine the plans accordingly.

Looking forward to this one - apart from a few visits to Norwich, I've never spent any quality time in East Anglia...

Re: Mick's Motoring April Adventure
My brother rented a Bedford CA minibus and took his family and mine to Hunstanton from Brum for a day out, the s/abs were worn out on the damned thing and within the first ten minutes my wife who didn't travel well even on a bus was chucking up, she bravely continued for the sake of the kids but the place really wasn't, at that time, worth the effort.

Re: Mick's Motoring April Adventure
Not the greatest place in the world Gibbo but it's the ideal stopping site for this trip. We may well end up a few miles away as I am not having much luck with finding suitable accomodation so far. Taking a back seat today as I am refilling the bore hole in Elstree at last!!

Speaking to Robyn about it today, she says Hunstanton is not the be all and end all although she says Old Hunstanton just up the road is an order of magnitude better and well worth a look-see

Thanks Alasdair but that is probably a bit too far from the beach for morning running needs!!

Re: Mick's Motoring April Adventure
As I suspected the hotels in Hunstanton are either too expensive or cannot offer the two double rooms we need. However I have booked us in now in Titchwell which is a few miles along the route from Hunstanton so will give Jim more time for Friday morning's coastal run in preparation for Saturday's Parkrun!!

Re: Mick's Motoring April Adventure
With the trip starting in 4 weeks time I thought I'd just bump the thread to see if any East Anglian dwellers are up for a meet along the way?

Re: Mick's Motoring April Adventure
Just a week to go and we'll be heading for Kings Lynn and still no takers for a meet at some point. Are there any East Anglian members left?

Re: Mick's Motoring April Adventure
Just 60 hours to go before the adventure will be under way. Still no meets to arrange so the Friday programme is pretty free and easy as it is!!
