Ok, so just to draw a line under this one. From your VIN it is not clear, as although there are tyre sensors indicated, it does not show that a TPMS ECU is fitted. Hence the problem with being unable to clarify this for certain.

Having said that, your vehicle was built on 12th November 2014, and the manual for the range of models built from 01/10/2013 to 31/01/2015 DOES NOT cover indirect TPMS systems - hence no mention of the option in the manual to reset the tyre pressure monitoring.

So we have to assume you have direct TPMS system and therefore if the TPMS warning light is flashing and then fixed along with the 'Service' warning lamp, you must assume a fault with the system. Kwik Fit and the like will NOT deal with these issues - it's a dealer response to be honest as it needs a proper diagnostic to ascertain where the fault is.

Hopefully this answers the question.

Yes, I think there is a mistake in the database, there are loads of different TMPS ECU part numbers shown if you don't put in a VIN, looks like it has tripped up the database search and it doesn't return one for the specific car. Needs a scan with a decent diag tool to see where the fault lies.

Hell Razor5543 wrote: 02 Jan 2025, 19:51 The fifth post down this thread (which is from GiveMeABreak) suggests that you have the indirect system. The direct system will have a form of sensor fitted to each of the standard road wheels (some are built into the valves, others are stuck on the wheel rim (and enclosed by the tyre). Marc has found that your system can manage spare and run-flat wheels, so almost certainly does not have a sensor on each wheel.

The reason I asked about tyres pressures is that it might be possible the system 'thinks' it is at fault, as it has 'told' you of a problem that has not been rectified within a given number of cycles. It might then assume that you HAVE checked the tyres and found nothing wrong with them (and so the problem lies within the system itself) when in fact you have yet to do so.
Checked my tyre pressures, all ok, front ones are 36 psi, rear ones 33, which according to a quick search online is correct.

My local tyre place said they don't deal with indirect systems, so would this be a main Citroen dealership job? If so, I'm worried about the cost 😂

There's nothing to 'deal with' concerning indirect systems - this type of system is handled by the ESP System and the wheel speed sensors, so have no need of TPMS sensors and a separate ECU and aerial.

If you have the faults as I have described and in the manual with an initial flashing TPMS warning light, followed by a steady TPMS warning light and the SERVICE lamp on, then there is a fault with the system.

This needs to be rectified as if the tyre pressure monitoring system is malfunctioning or obviously not working – this counts as a 'major' fault on the MOT checks.

Thank you. And apologies I really appreciate the help.

In regards to where to get it sorted, I may take it to my local tyre place just to see if they are able to fix it there, as my wife got her direct tpms sensors replaced there, they just said they can't sort indirect systems. So I'll take it there and see if they can identify the issue and sort, if not, looks like it's my main Citroen dealership

If you, or someone you know, has a Costco card you may find that a branch that sells tyres can reset the TPMS if it is a direct system.

When you buy tyres there they don't bother keeping track of which corner the wheel comes from. They have a machine which codes a valve to the relevant position for the system. If you're lucky they may also have experience about whether TPMS is actually fitted.
