Off for a trailer trip this afternoon:
Down to near Stoke. Acoustic Rockwool. Trip not bad going down but coming home traffic matrix signs said "60 minutes delay" then worse still "M6 closed" argh!
Diversion (A556 then M60 and then M61) unsurprisingly quite busy, but not a great issue.
Surprised how many "Sunday Drivers" were on the roads! I might have a maximum of 60 mph with trailer in tow but I caught up and overtook at least a dozen bumbling along well below that!
Chip butty tea and then get togged up to unload the trailer - it's cooling down (2°C apparently but feels chilly)

When travelling along any urban dual carriageway every vehicle following me moves into the right-hand lane and jostles to pass me
I'm just driving within my (albeit limited) capabilities and I don't consider I'm driving as slowly as most of the traffic seem to think I am...
I'm soon off to take part in the MK 6AM Grand Prix along the road to Tesco. It's utterly manic

Wholeheartedly agree, a lot of folks do seem quite aggressive in how they drive. Tailgating is my particular annoyance, there's just no need for it. I am not part of your crumple zone!
The "middle lane brigade" were also very much out in force yesterday, more than once I'd to slow a little in my (near empty) lane 1 so as to avoid undertaking a line of tailgaters in lane 2. "Ah, but it's the fast lane!"

I will (if the lane I am in is clear) overtake on the inside lane. My attitude is that, as I am not weaving across lanes and the lane I am in is clear, I can proceed at an acceptable speed.

Oh gosh yes Matt and humungous SUVs love to do that to me in my AX... And there's a big problem in that, especially at night but often by day too, as I'm so low their retina-searingly bright lights shine straight in at just the wrong angle and it's like being in the centre of a nuclear reactor...MattBLancs wrote: 13 Jan 2025, 07:21 Tailgating is my particular annoyance, there's just no need for it. They're blissfully unaware of the problem they are causing...
And they are also unaware they'd find an AX a very poor crumple zone

I'd have to take issue with that Jim, I reckon an AX will crumple exceedingly well!!CitroJim wrote: 13 Jan 2025, 08:35 And they are also unaware they'd find an AX a very poor crumple zone![]()

Too well Mick, not dissipating enough energy to stop a moron in an SUV!mickthemaverick wrote: 13 Jan 2025, 09:26 I'd have to take issue with that Jim, I reckon an AX will crumple exceedingly well!!![]()

P.s. agree about the high mounted headlights of SUVs (and vans) - not good. Similar experience in the Coupe sat nice and low.

The latest ones are so bright now I really wonder how they are legal. And on that topic the design of some lighting clusters make indicators almost invisible...MattBLancs wrote: 13 Jan 2025, 12:59 P.s. agree about the high mounted headlights of SUVs (and vans) - not good. There's a Tesla that has rear indicators the size of pin-pricks. And then cars where the design of the DRLs obscure the front indicators and makes them indistinct... I've seen some near-misses because of them...
Lighting legislation is now a joke... Form over function and then some

Agree, there's very poor light designs out there. Agree also on the indicators being too close to the headlamps (or brake lights) in many instances too!
