fault code P1743 Check auto gearbox & Check Anti-Pollution System

2016 Captur 1.5 diesel automatic. 56k miles.
I have this intermittent issue with the automatic gearbox. Dash shows Check auto gearbox & Check Anti-Pollution System. The ODB code reader shows P1743.
The car behaves strangely with high revs as it tries to go through the gears.
It seems like only gears R, 2, 4, 6 work when i change manually.
When i disconnect the car battery and reconnect everything goes back to normal. No errors and gears work ok. However the error returns days or a few hours later.
The battery is an expensive stop start one and seems to work fine with stop start. I charged it fully..etc
I read the fault code P1743 related to the gearbox speed sensor? Im just considering if its a case of changing that or something else? Whats strange is the Check Anti-Pollution System fault that comes up at the same time which indicates something else?
Hope someone has the same issue or can help? Would appreciate any thoughts?
