I hoovered mine out yesterday Husky :) It had three parts of Salcey Forest in it

Hope the test drive was good :) So, reading between the lines, it looks like those bushes being warn allowed lateral movement of the pedal... So would it be a good test to see if the pedal has a lot of side-to-side play to determine if it's soon to kill the master cylinder?

And a good plan to renew those bushes if the master cylinder fails and maybe a regular check on the pedal and renew them before the master fails?

Hi jim , yes id give the pedal a wiggle if it feels to lose then yes new bushes the difference is amazing im thinking if you go back to being a kid and you wiggled a wobbly tooth it then came out hence movement of the wrong sort can harm the clucth master cylinder plus my fluid feed pipe was rubbish . Test drive in about an hour i will report back later

I think the next thing is gear linkages , first slight notchy , but for now ive got a way of getting it in without much issue, ive seen some say you cant get the cables on there own its the stick shift aswell ,so one complete piece, i will wait for better weather , im just happy its now of use. As for that other car i was wanting , the clutch slave is inside the gear box by what ive seen !

#-o #-o not for the clutch as ,Gears ok, clutch brilliant all working as it was made to do, BUT Job now is lower balljoints caught another bloody pot hole over the weekend ..... get one thing done then this. Also from this morning when i was diagnosing the issue , which side to side wiggle of the wheel car jacked up of course , made the lower balljoint wiggle and dance like a fish out of water !!!

Me 2 , only thing i can think of is when i had the clutch all done after the mot the drop links were going to be change then the mechanic as i recall rang me up & said they didnt need replacing so put it back on, i had all the front suspension parts put by as a just incase , but was told everything was ok , so im putting it down to a lapse of concertration , im going to be changing the lower wishbones hopefully in the morning so will sort it then. Next time i see my mechanic im going to mention it , plus a kick up the ass too. Thanks to another pot hole in the dark & rain ive now got to do a job i was hoping not to do till spring . Oh well ..

NS lower wishbone all replaced brake pipe now sitting where its ment to be. OS will be done another day , thanks to thick hard drizzle just as the wheel was being put back on so todays weather finaly put the mockers on the other front side being done . I did how ever jack up the driver side and tested for any play , none at all, very pleased, so the passenger side was as lose as a secret on TIKTOK :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Well done Husky, good to get that flexi hose back where it belongs to ensure it doesn't get rubbed on the drop link!! :-D

That's a good policy Husky... It is how I have ran my cars for years now, especially when I did reasonably high mileages in Xantias; get any problems sorted soonest before they developed into something larger - as Xantia problems are apt to do!

Went out yesterday eve, used the picasso for a little bit of christmas shopping & weekly top up drove 25 mile round trip & what a difference even my wife noticed too. Just wish the roads wernt so bad its a tank thats needed to drive over some of our roads.

I was considering stone chipping the lower part of the car is it worth it ?
